Reasons to take up Running!

Running is fun!

I've been running since sixth grade and it has been one of the best things I've chosen to do. So why not share just how great it really is? These are just a few reasons why I believe running is great and is something everyone should try and incorporate into their everyday lives. Below are 10 reasons why you should try running as well!



  1. It's a great stress reliever.
  2. Running has no qualifications and anyone can do it.
  3. It keeps you mentally tough.
  4. It helps you stay in shape.
  5. It allows you to meet different people from all different backgrounds.
  6. It's pretty much free and can be done anywhere.
  7. Prevents diseases such as high blood pressure and osteoporosis.
  8. Gives you an excuse to eat more carbs!
  9. Running has been shown to help keep the mind sharp.
  10. A great way to gain an enegry boost.

  1. I am working up to running again. I had a ligament tear, so it's been NO major impact exercise for about 9 months. GAH!! This inspires me to keep working on the knee!! (weights, floor work, pool) :)

  2. I second your reasons for running! I don't run anywhere near as much as I used to but I would never feel better physically than after a good run. My main reasons for running is building endurance and mental strength, and not feeling guilty about eating anything I want afterwards! My main issue now is not having that drive in me to walk out of my room and just go run!
